Celebrating a World of Music: The Universal Language

Driving San Diego Zoo built by Artistic Entertainment Services (AES), this float took home the Sweepstakes Trophy! The Sweepstakes Trophy is the highest award that can be won by a float in the parade.

This marks the first Sweepstakes Trophy to be won by AES and they hope for many more to come.

AES is one of the three professional builders with the others being Phoenix Decorating and Fiesta Floats.

2022 Parade

Dream. Believe. Achieve.

This theme was originally selected for the 2021 Rose Parade, but it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Parade has only been cancelled three other times in its history: 1942, 1943, and 1945 all due to World War II.

This year Brianne drove the Reeses’ University float with a whole band of out-walkers who cheered alongside the float. During the night before the parade as the floats were driven to their parade positions and viewing was available along Orange Grove, some passersby decided to throw Snickers and other Mars company candies at the float. It was an amusing and delicious protest.

This float was constructed by Artistic Entertainment Services (AES).

2020 Parade

The Power of Hope

Driving Amazon Prime: Troop Zero due to its exploration of space related topics and teen angst, this float was entered into the parade to announce the new show Troop Zero! available for stream on Amazon Prime.

This float was constructed by Artistic Entertainment Services (AES).

The Melody of Life

This year marked the release of the new movie How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. Brianne was excited to drive the float for a movie series she has enjoyed. On this float were two riders dressed as Astrid and Hiccup. The actor who played Hiccup was really into the role as he was actually missing part of his leg and wore a prosthetic just like Hiccup’s in the movie!

This float was constructed by Artistic Entertainment Services (AES).

2018 Parade

Making a Difference

Find Your Adventure

Driving Disney 60th Anniversary Float, built by Artistic Entertainment Services (AES).

While it is always exciting to celebrate Disneyland and all that Disney has contributed to the world over the many years it has been around, this float was especially unique compared to other floats. This group of three floats attached together by rotating bridges required five float drivers. Brianne was located in the center castle, which had no engine—only a steering wheel. She was alone. The other two floats (Frozen and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge) did have engines which allowed the float to be moved in the parade. Each of these floats had two drivers—one to drive and one to operate the animation, fireworks, and sound.

It was certainly an adventure to drive this float in the parade and it came with the lovely finale of Goofy helping Brianne out of the cockpit of the Disney Castle.

Inspiring Stories

This year Brianne drove a school float, of which there are two. Each school float represents one of the two teams that manage to make it to the Rose Bowl Game. This particular year Brianne drove the float for Stanford University.

This float was constructed and is maintained every year by Artistic Entertainment Services (AES).

Oh, the Places You’ll Go!

As a first year driver it was standard to act as an observer and watch a seasoned team drive in order to learn the ropes. This year Brianne was an observer in the Carsland float, which was built by Artistic Entertainment Services (AES).

Disney chose to further promote the opening of their new space Carsland and even gave limited edition float pins to the crew, float riders, out-walkers, and the woman who drove Mater as a tag ahead.

Just Imagine…

This year Brianne rode on the Girl Scouts of America 100th Anniversary float as a representative of the Ambassador level Girl Scouts. This is the level reached by those in High School who have already completed their Gold Award projects.

On the float tag ahead with Brianne were other girls that represented every level of Girl Scouts: Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador.

Float Design

Brianne collaborated and co-designed a number of Rose Parade floats over the years with Renee Hoss-Johnson, who has been designing Rose parade floats for more than 30 years. Many of Renee’s designs are hallmarks of the Rose Parade and still generate interest today as reference pieces for new floats.
